In order to provide the highest levels of care and education for your children, Duxford Preschool employs a team of professional, well-qualified and experienced early years staff. As a setting, we positively encourage all staff to attend regular training to keep up-to-date with best practice and wherever possible, support staff in studying for additional qualifications.
Michelle Williams
Manager
Michelle currently works 5 days and has over 25 years experience of working with children.
15 years was spent working in a Reception class at a local school, and then 7 years in a Preschool classroom in a Nursery. Michelle is confident in supporting and encouraging young children to become as independent in their learning and development, as they can.
Michelle’s favourite part of working with little people is to witness the delight in their own success.
Interests outside of childcare includes running crazy long distance events and making celebration cakes.
Carrie Darlington
Deputy Manager
Carrie has experience as a private Nanny, and has worked in an after school club. Carrie has worked at Preschool for over 10 years and currently works five days per week. Carrie enjoys being outside and getting messy. In her spare time Carrie runs and enjoys reading.
Gail Farr
Preschool Practitioner
Gail has worked in Childcare for over 10 years and joined Preschool from a large day Nursery, but has also worked as a Nanny. Gail loves to get messy and enjoys providing music and movement opportunities. In her spare time Gail enjoys reading, running, colouring, craft and spending time with her son.
Carrie Marsh
Preschool Practitioner
Carrie is currently working towards a Level 4 in Advanced Early Years Practice. Carrie’s hobbies include reading, spending time with her family and visiting English Heritage sites. Carrie is a Mum to 3 girls and has 6 years experience within childcare.
Georgina Hamilton
Preschool Practitioner
Georgina has over ten years experience working within childcare. Georgina currently works Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Georgina is a Level 2 Practitioner.
She has two boys and a little girl and is very passionate and creative providing new and exciting experiences to enable children to learn and grow. Georgina enjoys the outdoor environment and lots of family time.
Anna Kiss
Preschool Practitioner
Anna Is currently an unqualified Mum of 2 young boys. Anna is Bilingual and speaks Hungarian. In her spare time Anna loves gardening and growing fruit and vegetables on her allotment. Currently Anna is working 5 days per week.
Emily Rule
Preschool Practitioner
Emily is working toward her level 3 Early Years Practitioner qualification. Currently Emily works Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Emily travels with her family’s traditional steam fair during the holidays all over the UK. When she is not travelling, Emily enjoys baking and country walks with her two boys.
Karla Marwood
Office Administrator
Karla is responsible for making sure that the staff and parents have everything they need. Karla is a great problem solver and will always have time for a chat when needed.
Outside of work Karla enjoys park runs, a good coffee shop and forest school with her children.
You will find Karla in the office at the end of the telephone on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
